Summer 1988: The twins Isa and Doreen are allowed to attend a training camp at Lake Balaton in Hungary as promising young athletes of the GDR. There they meet two boys from Hamburg - Arne and Nico. The vacation flirtation soon turns into something more and Arne suggests that the inseparable sisters flee the GDR together.
A teenage love story based on a real story that comes across as light and cheerful despite its political background. Thalheim made the movie with the knowledge that we have today, namely, that a year later in 1989 the Wall would fall. After that, the crime of "Republikflucht", the defection from East Germany to the West no longer existed.
