This inquiry focuses on the establishment of the Eurozone as a component of the European Union (EU). The euro area, also called the Eurozone, consists of European Union member states, who have adopted the euro. Students will gain a greater understanding of the adoption of the euro (€), the meaning of a single currency for the EU, and Germany's role as a member of the Eurozone. Further, students will explore the major functions of the European Central Bank (ECB).
