My favourite AI in culture project at the moment is… GPT-3 from Open AI. It’s slightly scary how powerful it is but it has huge potential to aid humans when it comes to making sense of the deluge of information that is part of the modern world.

By 2030 I would like to have an AI app which… is a true digital secretary, making calls and responding to emails on my behalf, paying bills and basically organising my life for me!

My worst AI nightmare is… autonomous warfare. Many countries have committed to a moratorium on this because of the knotty issues thrown up with the concept of giving machines the power to decide who to kill.

The future of AI needs… to be human-centric. AI is really augmented intelligence - its primary role should be to assist and augment the abilities of us humans.
