7th Edition
The ninth edition of the Science Film Festival in Egypt was organized by Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a major library and cultural center on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea in Alexandria, and reached 705 students aged 5 to 15 years. Activities were held on December 13th, 14th and 18th at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina conferene center.

Further screenings were also held from December 1 to 20 at the Planetarium Science Center. A total of 14 films were screened during the festival. Activities included a science show and several workshops on sedimentary rocks, phenakistoscopes and coral reefs.

Over 30 pre-jury members with expertise in science education and science communication in the participating countries and in-depth knowledge of the local target audience are closely involved in the selection process. All films are translated and synchronized or subtitled into local languages where necessary to offer access without language barriers.
