11th Edition
The Science Film Festival enters its 11th edition in 2020. Organized by Goethe-Institut Indonesien, the Festival returns with the support of its long-standing partners the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, PASCH-Proyek: “Sekolah Mitra Menuju Masa Depan”, Atma Jaya Catholic University, and Paramadina University. As many as 15 films from 6 countries have been selected to be screened during the festival period from 20 October to 6 November 2020 in many cities in Indonesia. The Festival is also supported by media and venue partner: Deutsche Welle, Bobo, Koran Tempo,,,, , Goethe-Zentrum (Wisma Jerman), Science and Technology Interactive Center in several cities: Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Pontianak, AF Medan, School’s partner from PASCH, and our local partner such as Schools, Universities, cultural centers and others. Together, they help create hands-on experience for children in their interaction with science. The Science Film Festival attracted a total of 122,066 visitors in 2019.

Over 30 pre-jury members with expertise in science education and science communication in the participating country and in-depth knowledge of the local target audience are closely involved in the selection process. All films are translated and synchronized or subtitled into local languages where necessary to offer access without language barriers.
