16th Edition
The Science Film Festival implemented its 16th edition in 2025. Organized by Goethe-Institut Indonesien, the Festival returned with the support of its long-standing partners the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, The “Schools: Partners for the Future” (PASCH), the Educational Cooperation Program (BKD), Rolls-Royce, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, State University of Jakarta and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. As many as 16 films from 7 countries were selected to be screened during the festival period from 4 to 30 November in 70 cities in Indonesia.

The festival in Indonesia was also supported by many media and venue partners: Bobo, Greeners.co, Mongabay Indonesia, National Geographic Indonesia, Tempo Media, Radio Sonora Jakarta, Wisma Jerman Surabaya, Alliance Française de Medan, Alliance Française de Semarang, Indonesia Science Center, Taman Pintar Yogyakarta, Pontianak Science and Linguistic Center, Sundial Science Center, Pusat IPTEKDA NTB, PPIPTEK Sultra, Layanan Pusat Peraga IPTEK daerah Makassar, PASCH schools, BKD schools as well as other schools, institutions, cultural centers and venue partners. Together with their support and cooperation, we create hands-on experiences for children in their interaction with science. In 2025, the festival reached more than 200 schools and recorded 74,857 participants.

Show all Pre-Jury Members of Indonesia

Over 30 pre-jury members with expertise in science education and science communication in the participating country and in-depth knowledge of the local target audience are closely involved in the selection process. All films are translated and synchronized or subtitled into local languages where necessary to offer access without language barriers.
