9th Edition
The Science Film Festival enters its ninth edition in 2018. Organized by Goethe-Institut Indonesia, the Festival returns with the support of its long-standing partners PT Siemens Indonesia, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, PASCH-Proyek: “Sekolah Mitra Menuju Masa Depan”, Sahid Hotels & Resorts, Satya Wacana Salatiga Christian University, and Paramadina University. As many as 15 films from 7 countries have been selected to be screened during the festival period from 23 October to 13 November 2018 in 42 cities in Indonesia.

The Festival is also supported by media and venue partner: Kompas, Goethe-Zentrum (Wisma Jerman), Science and Technology Interactive Center, AF Medan, Yogyakarta Smart Park, Komodo Water and others. Together, they help create hands-on experience for children in their interaction with science. The Science Film Festival attracted a total of 86,763 visitors in 2018.

Show all Pre-Jury Members of Indonesia

Over 30 pre-jury members with expertise in science education and science communication in the participating country and in-depth knowledge of the local target audience are closely involved in the selection process. All films are translated and synchronized or subtitled into local languages where necessary to offer access without language barriers.
