What is the MINT German Course?

A German language course with a focus on science-related topics. This specific course will brush up your German language skills preparing you for undergraduate MINT studies at a technical university in Germany. Company visits are also Included in this language course program.

Who can attend the MINT German Course?

Students who are currently in class 10, 11 or 12 writing ICSE or CBSE and are learning German at the A2/B1 level are welcome to attend the MINT German Course.

Why should I attend the MINT German Course?

Most Indian high school leaving certificates do not grant direct access to bachelor's studies at German universities. Therefore you have to attend a preparatory course (Studienkolleg) at a German university followed by an aptitude test which allows you to apply for a bachelor's program. The Goethe-Institut and the nine best technical universities in Germany (TU9) have an agreement which grants an Indian student easy acceess to a bachelor's program at a technical university in Germany. This “fast track” preparatory course is called the “Studienbrücke”. Hence the students who qualify and successfully complete this fast track program do not need to spend an extra year in Germany preparing for university. The MINT German Course is your first step to qualifying for one of the seats in the above mentioned “fast track” program. The “fast track” preparatory course (Studienbrücke) will take place at the Goethe-Institut in Bangalore.

What is the structure of the course?

TBD

What is the duration of the MINT German Course?

The MINT German Course comprises 180 units of 45 minutes each and will take between 4-5 weeks (Monday to Friday). The course will take place during the summer holidays 2014.

Where and when will the MINT German Course take place?

Please contact the Goethe-Institut closest to you to find out more about the time and place of the MINT German Course:

In order to participate in the fast track program “Studienbrücke 2015” level B2.1 is required. A course helping you acquire this level, will be offered after the MINT German Course. If there is enough demand for a level B2.1 MINT German course, we shall consider offering an additional course for the same.

What is the TU9?

TU9 is an alliance of nine leading Universities of Technology in Germany. The Leibniz Universität Hannover is one of it's members and the first university participating in the “Studienbrücke” - a “fast track” to the best technical universities in Germany.
