What does MINT stand for?

MINT stands for:
M = Mathematics
I = Informatics
N = Natural Sciences
T = Technical Sciences

What is the MINT German Course?

MINT course is a language course with special focus on MINT subjects. The participants learn not only the German language, but also the basic vocabulary of the subjects like Mathematics, Informatics, Chemistry and Physics in German language. We offer an informative session on 'Study in Germany' as part of the course, and also plan a visit to a German company, as and when possible. This course is offered during summer vacations in view of the school closure during this period.

Who can attend the MINT German Course?

Students of class 9, 10, 11 or 12, who are currently learning German and are interested in higher studies in Germany, are welcome to attend the MINT German Course. The course is, however, aimed at preparing students with a science background only.

Why should I attend the MINT German Course?

Most Indian high school leaving certificates do not grant direct access to bachelor's studies at German universities. Therefore you have to attend a preparatory course (Studienkolleg) at a German university followed by an aptitude test. To get into the Studienkolleg, you have to write an entrance examination where the medium of instruction is German. You are tested on science related questions up to class 12. The MINT course is specifically designed to help you understand the pattern and the difiiculty level of the entrance exam.

What is the structure of the course?

The course is divided into 150 units (of 45 minutes each), for both courses B1 and B2.1. Depending on the current language proficiency, the candidate is placed in the relevant course. Out of these units, 40 units are for the subject classes; 10 units per subject (Mathematics, Informatics, Chemistry and Physics).

What is the duration of the MINT German Course?

6 weeks

Where and when will the MINT German Course take place?

The classes will take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 13:45 at Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar, Delhi.

Which German examination will the students write at the end of the course?

At the end of the MINT German Course students will write Goethe-Zertifikat B1 exam. This is an internationally recognized certificate  which corresponds to the third level (B1) of the six-level competency scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The examination fees is not included in the course fees and need to be paid separately.

What is cost of the course?

B1:       INR 12,000
B2.1:    INR 15,000

The fees includes the cost of learning material. The study material will be provided to the students on the first day of the course.

The registration for the course will take place from 20.04.15 to 01.05.2015  between 10:00–12:30 and 14:00–16:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Payment may be done in cash or through a demand draft drawn in favor of MAX MUELLER BHAVAN payable at New Delhi.
