Jürgen Rank

Jürgen Rank Jürgen Rank Born after the 1970 World Cup, Jürgen Rank was named after German legend Jürgen Grabowski by his football-mad father.

He grew up on the doorstep of the stadium of his local team SpVgg Bayreuth, which influenced him from an early age and sparked his obsession for football, from grass roots to top level. In 1995 he moved to London to begin studying design and British football culture.

He has held his current role as head designer of the design team for football apparel at Adidas since 2004. He runs a multinational design team of football enthusiasts. Over the last 18 years he has been responsible for the Adidas kit worn at four World Cups and four Euros, as well as for countless club strips all over the world.

In 2014 he published his first book, a photographic tour of some of the world’s most iconic stadiums, entitled “Der Grund ist Fussball” (Football is the Reason).
