The Goethe-Institut Kamerun is seeking a full-time Accountant (100%) for the period from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2028, with the possibility of renewal.

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, operating worldwide. It promotes knowledge of the German language abroad, fosters international cultural cooperation and conveys a comprehensive image of Germany by providing information on cultural, social and political life in Germany.

Job Profile

  • Record daily accounting transactions for all departments.
  • Coordinate accounting processes between the Administration and Language Departments.
  • Support all departments in accounting procedures and ensure compliance with established financial regulations.
  • Assist in budget monitoring and control.
  • Contribute to monthly and annual financial reporting and evaluations.
  • Communicate with colleagues and service providers at the local, regional, and headquarters levels in Germany.
  • Provide general administrative support.
Requirements
  • Holder of an HND (Higher National Diploma) or equivalent qualification in Administration, Accounting, Management, or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent command of French and German, with a good command of spoken and written English.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other standard office applications.
  • Enjoy working with numbers.
  • High level of accuracy, precision, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and work with the Goethe-Institut's internal IT systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and intercultural skills.
  • Strong ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure while remaining independent and reliable.
