L’Afrique enchantée en chantier

L'Afrique enchantée en chantier challenges the creators, invites them to seize the methods of contemporary dance and to draw from African dance to transmit their vision of the world. At the same time, the project raises the awareness of the actors in this profession: performers, choreographers, producers, press, directors of creation and distribution venues, of the need to support African choreographic creation. The project leaders are setting up a programme of African and contemporary dance workshops aimed at dancers and future choreographers living in Africa, and more broadly, at the entire professional sector of Afro-contemporary dance or creative dance. The objectives of the project are: the professionalization of dancers in Africa, the encouragement of the creation of choreographic works of African culture, the creation of a network of cultural structures for the promotion of creative dance in Africa, and the highlighting of creative dance to the African public. The performance of 06.05.2022 is the restitution of a residency led by Merlin Nyakam at the Goethe-Institut from 02 to 05 May 2022 and involving young dancers from various cultural and geographical backgrounds in Cameroon.
