Q: Arrival and departure

Supervised transfer from the airports Hamburg and Bremen A transfer service between the airport Hamburg (HAM) and the course location in Bremen will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the official arrival and departure days (waiting times may be involved). One of our employees will be waiting at the transit area exit in the arrivals hall to greet the children when they arrive. He/she will be carrying a Goethe-Institut sign and will have identification. For organisational reasons, we cannot tell you the name of the employee until three days before the start of the course, at the earliest. On the departure day, we will accompany your child as far as the airport check-in. Further information on arrival and departure can be found in our FAQ.

As a trading city, Bremen has always been seen as open-minded. Young people meet between brick buildings and half-timbered houses – in summer, it’s the outdoors that beckon for people to socialise. The perfect place for a language camp! Young people can learn German, explore the city and exchange ideas with students from all over the world.

Learn German – the adventure of your life

German lessons take place daily in the morning. Lessons are also planned for two to three afternoons. On weekends, the camp’s students can apply their new knowledge on excursions or while exploring Bremen. The accommodation is located on the Stadtwerder, a peninsula on the river Weser in Bremen. On the one hand, people find themselves surrounded by greenery and, on the other, are just around 2 kilometres from Bremen city centre.

Our students from all over the world live together in 2-, 3- or 4-bed rooms complete with shower and WC. Three meals are offered daily – mainly with regional products. We always offer our camp participants a wide selection of different dishes. Drinks and refreshments are available during the breaks and in the afternoon.

There is also a medieval atmosphere in the city’s “Schnoor” district, where narrow alleyways nestled between small craftsmen’s houses are reminiscent of times gone by.
Bremerhaven is also part of the city of Bremen. Once there, you can visit the Emigration Centre (Auswandererhaus), a museum dedicated to the migration of Germans in the 19th century.
On another day, we take our course participants to the “Wadden Sea” – located on the North Sea – for a wonderful mudflat hike.

City trip and alpine adventure

Our course participants will certainly find it exciting to explore their host city of Bremen, which can look back on more than a thousand years of history. During a city rally, the students on our German course will get to know the most beautiful corners of Bremen, which even includes a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the town hall and the Roland statue in front of it on the market square. The magnificent town hall bears witness to the self-confidence of the Hanseatic city and its citizens. The Roland is the eleven-meter-high figure of a knight with the imperial coat of arms on his shield, the largest surviving statue of the Middle Ages in Germany. There is also a monument to the Bremen Town Musicians at the town hall.
