Celebrating its 10th anniversary Loikka is organising an international dance film conference Future Screens of Dance in Helsinki, Finland. The conference is interlocked with the dance film festival and it encourages in artistic and scholarly exchange, debate and discussion in screen-dance and related disciplines including virtual technology.
The conference invites dance filmmakers, representatives, academics and business to examine the forms and approaches enabling diversity and vibrancy of the art form. The conference is divided into content specified days concentrating on key question related to the use of virtual technology within artistic work as well as narration and the multiple views of enhancing the vibrancy of the dance film industry.
The conference welcomes particularly film and virtual technology professionals but the content is inclusive and open to everyone interested in building knowledge on dance film and virtual technologies. The conference is discursive and interactive, including workshops, panel and group discussions, lecture-demonstrations, as well as academic lectures.
For the first day of the conference (Mixed Reality Day) Goethe-Institut has invited Astrid Kahmke from Germany (Bayerisches Filmzentrum).
