Acclaimed Ghanaian bassist Bright Osei together with Anthony Ansah, David Miyilor, and Nicholas Mettle will on Friday April 29 perform at the Goethe-Institut as part of events marking the 2022 edition of International Jazz Day.

With all four artists being masters in their own right, the evening is set to thrill jazz lovers in Accra with refreshing compositions from Osei, which will be interspersed with tunes from Ansah, Miyilor and Mettle.
The group will showcase standard jazz that have been effectively blended with African vibes and modern sounds that encompass pop and funk among others that will provide patrons with a new interpretation of jazz music.

Solo firepower during their performances are remarkable and formidable – indeed, they prove the fact that they are fully in love with music through effective communication and coordination on stage while sustaining the attention of the audience.

Osei has toured with a number of highlife greats including Jewel Ackah, Papa Yankson, Gyedu Blay-Ambolley, Paa Bobo, Daddy Lumba, Ofori Amponsah and Kojo Antwi among others. He subsequently moved into jazz and has been performing with the GH Jazz Collective while touring Europe for workshops and performances.

Saxophonist Ansah, who is popularly known as Khalisax, is also a composer, producer and a mixing / mastering engineer. He has featured on several albums and performed with a number of Ghanaian and foreign musicians including Richard Bona, Obrafour and Obaapa Christie.
Also a singer Miyilor is an acclaimed drummer who is known for a soulful voice and groovy drumming. With two singles “Kane” and “Sorlemor” to his credit, he fuses Highlife and soul in his jazz compositions and has toured widely in Africa and Asia.

Noted for his flair and flexibility towards Jazz, Pop, Gospel, Afro Beat and Highlife, pianist Mettle performed with the likes of Victor Dey, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Kwabena Kwabena and Joe Mettle among others. He regularly performs with Breeze, Soul Nice and North Star Bands.
