Lending Service
The library is open to the general public. Reference use of the library and information centre is free of charge. To borrow books and other materials, you need a valid library card. To obtain one, please fill in an application form and present one proof of address (driving licence, utility bill etc).
Registration and Library Membership
The library is open to the public and the use of books and media is free of charge. A valid library card is required to borrow media. You must register for this in person at the library.
You can sign up for a library membership online using the link below. Please fill out the form to register registration and confirm your email address. Then come by our library within seven days to finalise the registration. You will need an ID card and current proof of address for this. You may also fill out a printed registration form during our consultation hours.
Registrations, membership renewals, and fee payments can only be completed during consultation hours.

Library membership is required to borrow media.
Yearly membership (valid for 12 months)
The loan period for all media is 2 weeks. A maximum of 7 media can be borrowed, of which no more than 2 DVDs/CDs.

- Membership fee for Goethe students (KTN): Free
- Membership for Children: Free
- Membership for Adults 18 yeras and above: GHS 50.00

What is required for registration in the online catalogue?
You can find out about library membership on our website. However, you can also visit the library in person. If you are already a member of the library, you can proceed directly to step 2.
If you have not already registered on ‘Mein Goethe.de’, you can now easily do so online. Your log-in details from ‘Mein Goethe.de’ will be used for the log-in for the online catalogue. In addition, you can also use all of the Goethe-Institut’s other personalised online services for language classes, cultural events and the library with your ‘Mein Goethe.de’ account.

In order to activate your account, the library team needs to have the same email address with which you registered with ‘Mein Goethe.de’. Please fill in the registration form and send it to the library.
After you submit the form, the library will inform you as soon as you have activated your online library catalogue account. Usually activation is completed within two working days.
