„Grünes Diplom“
Professional Qualification for German (DaF) teachers

“Grünes Diplom”, or Green Diploma, is the Goethe-Institut’s* internal standardised qualification for German language teachers, which is offered at Goethe-Institut locations outside Germany. In Hong Kong, we offer the Grünes Diplom programme to interested teachers on an irregular basis.

*The Goethe-Institut is the official cultural arm of the German government.

The Goethe-Institut Hongkong is seeking university graduates who are interested in training to become DaF (German as a Foreign Language) teachers. With the Grünes Diplom, you will be qualified to teach at Goethe-Instituts worldwide.

The training lasts approximately two years and consists of four phases. With relevant prior knowledge, the duration can be shortened. You can find the detailed schedule in the programme. The training fee is 20,000 HKD.

Prerequisite for Applicants

You have a university degree (in any field) and proven German language skills at least at the B2/C1 level
Your primary residence is in Hong Kong
You have a valid residence and work permit.
During the training, you must pass the C1 Goethe-Zertifikat exam.

The application deadline for the Grünes Diplom training program is August 18, 2024.
