Scholarship
As part of the initiative "Schools: Partners for the Future" (PASCH), the Goethe-Institut organizes international youth courses for students from PASCH-Schools around the world.
Every year, around 1,000 scholarship holders from over 100 nations, who have distinguished themselves at their schools throughvery good performance and high motivation, come together to learn German in international communities.

Scholarship Application 2026
In Hong Kong, the application for the PASCH scholarship takes the form of a video competition. This provides students with an opportunity to showcase their enthusiasm towards learning German, motivation of participating the summer camp, as well as expressing their thoughts on certain cultural topics.
Given the intense competition for the scholarship, we strongly advise you to thoroughly observe the selection criteria and requirements before you start creating your video.

PERIOD FOR SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES:
14th January – 22nd February 2026
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant must be- A current student at St. Margaret´s Co-Educational English Secondary and Primary School or HKBUAS Wong Kam Fai Secondary School.
- Between age 14 and 18 (S.6 students are excluded from the application)
- Minimum German proficiency level of A1 or above (proof in the form of Goethe-Zertifikat only)
- Interested in the German language and Germany
- Strong motivation in participating in the Summer Camp
VIDEO CONTEST TASKS (choose one):
Create an Instagram/ Tik-tok video in Reel (vertical; 9:16) format. In this video, please introduce yourself and talk about ONE of the following topics:- Your favorite German word/ phrase and why you love it. Research its origin and history, and provide examples of how it is used in different contexts; or
- A German city in Bavaria you would like to visit, based on what you have learnt so far. Explain why you chose this city and outline your plans for a 3-day trip there.
Please note that the Reel should not exceed 3 minutes in total and should be presented entirely in German. If you are selected as one of the winners, your video will be published on various platforms, including but not limited to the channels of the Goethe-Institut and PASCH-Net.
HOW & WHEN TO SUBMIT:
- Please upload your Reel to WeTransfer under “Get a Link”
- Fill in the application form together with your parent, scan it, and save it in PDF format.
- Submit the (1) WeTransfer-Link and (2) the scanned PDF, along with a short cover letter by email no later than 22nd February 2026 to Mr. Maik Cheung: HINYUNG.CHEUNG@GOETHE.DE
