After the success of the German Teachers´ Day in 2013 and 2014, the Goethe-Institut Hongkong has decided to organize another German Teachers´ Day in 2015. The motto of this year will be “German gets digital”. The focus of this German Teachers´ Day will be digital learning in the area of German as foreign language. We will look at virtual learning platforms, use of i-Pads and mobile devices in the DaF (German as foreign language) classroom, use of Apps, digital learning concepts in the latest DaF publications, virtual language games for learners and use of interactive whiteboards in the DaF classroom.

The following programme outline provides information concerning seminar topics, contents and speakers. We have been striving to offer a comprehensive and diversified choice of seminars. Our speakers have many years of practical experience in teaching German as foreign language and advanced teacher training in Germany, China and other countries from East Asia as well as other parts of the world. In addition, our conference includes presentations from several renowned German publishers and a workshop from the Information and Library Department of the Goethe-Institut Hongkong. We sincerely hope that our visitors will have an opportunity to experience Hong Kong, a fascinating city, and take this chance to communicate and exchange ideas with other colleagues on this German Teachers’ Day.

Like every big event, a participant quota is necessary. This year, we will accommodate 80 participants and the places will be allocated on first-come-first-serve basis. Registration will stop once our participant limit has been reached. For registration, please send the registration form (see below) to the following email address on or before October 15, 2015(registration deadline):

deutschlehrertag@hongkong.goethe.org

Please note that seats of our seminars will not be allocated centrally. All the registered participants are allowed to take part in the plenary seminar. Afterwards, five seminars will run in parallel and each of them can accommodate 20 participants only. You may choose the seminar on your own at the conference. A seminar will be closed as soon as the limit of 20 participants per group has been reached.

We wish you an enjoyable time here with many new teaching ideas and new contacts with other teachers, and hope that our conference will a suitable choice for you.
