The Goethe-Institut Hongkong in collaboraton with the Austrian Consulate General Hong Kong will host a reading with Martin Amanshauser, author of “Falsch Reisen” and “Der Fisch in der Streichholzschachtel”, on 26. September 2015 (Saturday) from 5pm to 6pm in the library of the Goethe-Institut Hongkong in the 14th floor of the Hong Kong Arts Centre.

With tongue and cheek and irresistible humor, the author Martin Amanshauser makes his point about the pitfalls of modern travelling. Nothing is excluded: from airport to cruise ship, from rental car to tent holiday.

Amanshauser, novelist, travel journalist and columnist, wields a sharp pen when it comes to how nearly everything can go wrong on a trip:  as a flight passenger, as a hotel guest, when giving a tip, travelling by backpack or even when preparing a first-aid-kit.  Being a frequent traveler around the globe he knows of all those Dos and Don’ts, the awkward moments and some countries’ very typical customs.

The book “Falsch Reisen” is an entertaining, light-hearted A to Z guide to our contemporary travel culture also suitable for those home-bodies.  The presentation will also give a sneak preview into Amanshauser´s latest novel “Der Fisch in der Streichholzschachtel” (A fish in a match box), the story of a high tech ocean liner in the Caribbean meeting a bunch of really unusual pirates.

Don´t miss this event for both globetrotters and couch-potatoes. For assistance, text will be available in English translation.
