Adriana Altaras, born in Zagreb to Jewish parents, pursued a career in Germany as an actress, director and writer. When her parents die, she inherits their apartment and begins to sort through decades of letters and photographs, revealing a painful and sometimes comic family history affected by the Holocaust, persecution and political heroism. In the documentary adaptation of her best-selling autobiography, Adriana begins a journey to looks for her roots.
