This year, there is a special focus on German dance films at Jumping Frames International Dance Video Festival 2017. The initiator and artistic director of the festival TANZRAUSCHEN from Wuppertal, Kerstin Hamburg, will introduce 9 short films, which are specifically selected for Hong Kong by the curator Sigurd-Christian Evers: touching and inspiring insights into contemporary dance, given by German and international directors.
Besides, two documentary films will be presented: In Thin Skin, a film production team accompanied the young star choreographer Marco Goecke at work with different dance ensembles in Europe. It follows by the film Dancing with Bellies, which was awarded several times in Germany. The film portraits a group of women humorously, who find common enthusiasm in belly-dancing and gain contagious enjoyment of life.
