Richter meets Pärt Vox Clamantis - Concert at an Exhibition With Meet-the-Artist after the concert

With this special joint-concert and exhibition, Hong Kong Arts Festival, in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Hongkong, brings together the works of German artist Gerhard Richter and Estonian composer Arvo Pärt in the space at the University Museum and Art Gallery. Curator Robert Storr, a distinguished scholar of Richter’s work, has selected works by the Artist to be projected along with Arvo Pärt’s music, live performed by the acclaimed vocal ensemble Vox Clamantis. This immersive and sensory performance, both an art exhibition and a concert, is not to be missed!

“Near contemporaries – both are in their mid-80s – their approaches overlap when it comes to the use of “minimalist” structures to revive and recast traditional genres; modernist abstraction in Richter’s case and Renaissance and Baroque polyphony in Pärt’s. And, both have a profound feel for pauses, silences, exquisite chromatic registers and isolated sounds or marks and hues.”
