Screening and lecture: Hong Kong and the transnational itinerary in selected Filipino films, by curator Carlos Quijon, Jr.
13.7.2019 (Sat), 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Black Box Studio, Goethe-Institut Hongkong
For the closing programme of the exhibition Courses of Action, curator Carlos Quijon, Jr. will look at the place of Hong Kong in selected films produced in the Philippines. Elaborating on the two films included in the exhibition that prospect the transnational in aspects of production [Sanda Wong (1955)] and the film star [Once Upon a Time in Manila (1994)], the talk will look at other itineraries of the transnational in the interfacing of Hong Kong and the Philippines, particularly in a number of genre films and a recent documentary.
