The 2nd Hong Kong International Conducting Workshop

During the 2nd Hong Kong International Conducting Workshop, eight shortlisted participants will spend a week in Hong Kong to receive instructions and valuable insights from three master conductors. Three participants selected by the master conductors of the Conducting Workshop will perform in a concert (the Showcase) on Friday, January 17, 2020 at the Jockey Club Amphitheatre of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

The following repertoire will be performed:
Beethoven: Leonore Overture No 3, Op 72b
Brahms: Symphony No 4 in E minor, Op 98: 1st movement
Copland: Appalachian Spring Suite (for full orchestra)
Schubert: Symphony No 8 in B minor, D759, “Unfinished”: 1st movement
Stravinsky: Concerto in E-flat, “Dumbarton Oaks”
Tchaikovsky: Symphony No 6 in B minor, Op 74, “Pathétique”: 1st movement
