Barbara Wallbraun’s documentary revolves around six lesbian women who fought for their self-determination and fulfillment against the norms as dictated by the authoritarian regime in East Germany. Through their extraordinarily captivating stories, we get an empowering glimpse of a glorious struggle from individuals against a state machine which oppressed minorities at every turn, be it in metropolitan Berlin or Dresden, or in the provinces of Western Pomerania and Saxony-Anhalt.
Barbara Wallbraun, director of the documentary film, will attend a post-screening panel discussion and Q&A session via Zoom.
