Hong Kong Book Fair 2021

The Hong Kong Book Fair returns this year with the theme on inspirational and motivational Reading. The Goethe-Institut Hongkong is pleased to take part in the book fair again by presenting the latest awarding-winning and competition entries from the German Photobook Prize 2021.

About The German Photobook Prize:

The German Photobook Prize is a competition in which the best photo books from the German-Speaking countries are selected by a team of jury. It was founded in 1975 as the “Kodak Photobook Prize” in collaboration between the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels (Association of the German Book Trade) and the Regional Trade Office of Stuttgart. Since 2018, the University of Media has become the official organiser of the German Photobook Prize. The organization of the competition is supported by a top-class independent Jury. Prizes are awarded for special achievement of authors, photographers and editors in the field of photo book. In addition to publishers, the competition is also opened to photographers and photo designers. Photo books from publishers of German-speaking countries (including Switzerland and Austria), and titles published within a certain period of time yet never participated in the competition before, are eligible to take part in the German Photobook Prize. 

German Taster Courses

Besides displaying a wonderful collection of German Photobooks, two German Taster Courses will also be offered to the visitors at the Book Fair on 16th and 17th July. Both courses will be taught by qualified teachers from Goethe-Institut Hongkong:

Your First Taste of German - German Taster Course for Kids

Venue: Cultural Event Stage, Hall 1A Event Concourse
Remark: for children aged 5 - 13, with one accompanying adult
