Goethe-Institut Hongkong is pleased to present a series of programmes under the topic of "The Body and The City" from August to October this year. The programmes include an exhibition, film screenings, and a community-oriented performative work in public space titled "Human Graffiti" curated by Lai Sim Fong Zoe and led by artists Mann Chan and Frankie Ho in August and September.
Tagging is one of the most common forms of graffiti, writers tag their names quickly in the public space with simple line drawing. The artists – Man Chan and Frankie Ho – will lead a group of participants to create individual tags, but with their bodies. In the workshop, a series of bodily and writing exercises will be introduced. Borrowing the concept and the form of tagging, Human Graffiti explores the themes of cityscape and bodies, personal memories and history, expressing and appearing. The performance will be shown in a quick, ephemeral and instant manner in the public space at a particular time frame.
Recrutiment is now open.
