Crime, murder and sercrets. We are shocked by them. Yet our fascination for evil remains unchanged, as shown by tabloid press, social media, and the booming crime literature. On the one hand, these eveil stories provide an outlet for our darker sides and fears, on the other hand, they spark our curiosities and fulfill our wishes to solve mysteries. 

In Germany, crime novels and thrillers are especially popular. German readers have such a big appetite for them that there are even a subgenre called Regionalkrimi, which features crime novels specific to an individual city or region. Each year, German Crime Fiction Award is awarded to the best new release of German crime fictions as well as translated crime fictions by international authors. 

Beware! In May and June, the library turns into a crime scene. Here you will find the most outrageous crimes ever committed... in the form of crime fictions, thrillers, graphic novels and games. The crimes spread across the globe: in cities as far as Lagos, Hamburg, Berlin and in as close as Hong Kong. They span across generations: from the 1920s to future.
