The Marrakesh Treaty is an international agreement administrated by the World Intellectual Property Organization. Its main goal is to facilitate and enhance access to copyright works in accessible formats for persons with print disability.

Starting on 5th May 2022, the Marrakesh Treaty is also officially applied to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. As the main body to convey knowledge to the general public, how accessible are the libraries in Hong Kong? What can we learn from other countries, such as Germany, that have more experience in this area?

On 16th September, Christiane Felsmann, the head of Library Department – Services – Communication at the German Center for Accessible Reading in Leipzig, will share with us her experience in promoting accessible reading and some of the best practices from Germany and Europe.
