Art Literacy and Appreciation Workshop

Goethe-Institut Hongkong is pleased to be venue partner of 1a space in presenting the Art Literacy and Appreciation Workshop by Keith Lam in the Black Box Studio of the Institut on June 17, 2023 (Sat) from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Solar torch, superweapon… Quirky combo that transforms boring things into boundless possibilities.
In the eyes of Heidegger, the sun you see signifies a life cycle. In the eyes of Neo in “The Matrix”, the internet is perhaps just a bunch of numbers.

Why would we attempt to visualise the unseeable, and vocalise the inaudible with media arts? It’s all about transformation? Does transformation refer to the media itself or its context? How artists be able to see the unseen?

In this workshop, artist Keith Lam will reveal the transformative and cross-boundary nature of media arts, and how the mediums interchange between works, as participants learn to dissect what they see with a discerning eye like Neo.
