The ‘Female Artists and Art Market’ panel discussion aims to explore the role of women in the contemporary art market, with empirical sharings from major figures in Hong Kong and Germany.

The discussion will consider key questions such as: what representation do women have in the global art market? How can the artists access and benefit from pricing, sales, exhibition opportunities and collectors? The topics included but not limited to the evolution of the art market since feminism emerged as a mainstream movement, perceived advantages or disadvantage that female practitioners face in the marketplace, innovative strategies to attract interest from potential buyers and collectors. Perspectives from practising contemporary artists and art entrepreneur experienced in acquiring such works will be featured.

In addition to sharing their insights on current issues facing when women entering the market, they'll provide practical advice by delving into these topics with an audience of industry professionals, enthusiasts, students and emerging talent in attendance, this panel aims to generate thought-provoking conversations that lead to positive change.
