GoetheHaus Jakarta

Volker Schlöndorff's first film from the 1960s shows how forms of domination and oppression shape life in a community and explores the fine balance between knowledge and responsibility. The eponymous main character, Thomas Törless, observes how two students humiliate a third at boarding school. As Törless struggles to take appropriate action, the incidents recur.
