Open Workshop with Berlin-based VJ-Studio Pfadfinderei

Goethe-Institut Jakarta

During the workshop Marco from Berlin-based VJ collective Pfadfinderei introduces the basics of macro motion and invites the participants to experiment with the technique. Macro motion combines video shooting methods with macro photography. The technique enables its users to focus on tiny objects and textures that are hardly detectable for the human eye and brings microscopic details into motion. The open workshop provides a broad but detailed overview on how to select the right objects or textures, setup a suitable DIY studio setting, use the video camera appropriately, and experiment with small movement; all accompanied by useful technical knowledge and some of Marco’s personal tips and tricks.

Participants should bring camera (with macro lens) or a smartphone and laptop with video editing software (After Effects).

Pfadfinderei is a Berlin-based international collective specializing in interdisciplinary concepts for visual music performances, multi-media installations, stage shows, and creative direction. Going beyond their initial roots of screen work, they apply immersive components to fuse light, video, and spatial design.
