This workshop introduces participants to the process of transcribing texts and historical manuscripts on Wikisource, an online library platform for free access to and sharing of texts.

Participants will also be guided to understand the open knowledge ecosystem and how this approach strengthens the preservation of cultural heritage, expands access to knowledge, and increases public awareness of openly licensed materials.

Through hands-on practice, participants will learn the transcription workflow, text alignment, and publication stages, so that the resulting work can be accessed and used widely by the public.
