Cultural heritage is a key factor in shaping the identity, collective memory, and future of communities around the world. It includes both tangible and intangible forms of culture transmitted from one generation to the next. Technological advances, urbanisation, and the spread of global culture, however, are creating new challenges for the survival of traditional practices, thereby increasing the importance of documentation, preservation, and cultural education.
