Digital technology has transformed the way people discover, access, interpret and exchange knowledge about cultural heritage through online platforms. This trend creates opportunities for museums and libraries to engage with a wider audience, whilst also promoting public access, participation and engagement.

National Museum Day 2026 provides an opportunity to think about the role of museums and libraries in providing inclusive spaces for knowledge, learning and dialogue, in line with the theme of International Museum Day 2026, “Museums Uniting a Divided World”.

This event features panel discussions to explore opportunities for collaboration in the digital age, including connecting collections, sharing expertise, building community engagement, and promoting access to cultural heritage and knowledge.
