Cultural exchange thrives through personal encounters. The Goethe-Institut and its partners offer varied opportunities in residencies, trainings and workshops in Germany, in India or online. Recent opportunities are listed on this page.

Media Ambassadors India-Germany

For the last time, German journalists get the chance to travel to India as Media Ambassadors from September to December 2019. The program includes a monthly allowance as well as customized academic media and area studies course at the Center for Media Competence of the University of Tübingen, an extensive cultural program, a field trip in Germany and a job-shadowing in a German newsroom. The goal of the program is to help journalists from India and Germany to gain a better understanding of the other country as well as their media.

Deadline for applications is March 31st, 2019.

bangaloREsidency-Expanded 2019

The bangaloREsidency-Expanded facilitates residencies in Germany for Indian artists living and working in Karnataka and Kerala. Selected artists would typically spend 4 - 6 weeks at one or other of our partner organisations in Germany. Young, emerging Indian artists stand to profit immensely from exposure to other cultures/artistic arenas. The aim of this initiative is, therefore, to establish long-term artistic exchange in a sustainable format that intensifies creative exchange through a novel practice of collaboration, wherein Indian artists get to live and work in Germany, gain access to the art practice of the other culture and thereby enrich their own creativity.
Applications invited from artists (from Karnataka/Kerala only) for 2019.
Deadline for applications: March 31, 2019.
Final selection: April 30, 2019.
