Women in Design 2020+ is an International Conference that aims to curate stories of women around the world who have excelled and have a global impact in the field of architecture, construction and other creative fields that are directly or indirectly associated. It has been curated by Brinda Somaya and the Hecar Foundation.

With an aim to push the boundaries of architecture and design, the conference delves into discussions on a wide spectrum of disciplines such as photography, art, film and literature that relates to the architectural profession. Over three days, women from India and around the world will share their work, thoughts and ideas.

Annabelle Selldorf is the Principal of Selldorf Architects. Born and raised in Germany, she received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute and a Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University in Florence, Italy. She is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and serves on the Board of the Architectural League of New York, the World Monuments Fund, the Chinati Foundation, and the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College. In 2017, Ms. Selldorf was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters, three years after receiving the organization’s prestigious Award in Architecture. She is also the recipient of the 2016 Medal of Honor from the American Institute of Architecture, New York Chapter.

Her approach to design has been described in the Wall Street Journal as "...about restrained and understated elegance. From reinvented Beaux-Arts galleries to handsome residential towers, the Selldorf statement goes against the grain." Her work has also been praised by Paul Goldberger, Architecture Critic for The New Yorker as "...a kind of gentle modernism of utter precision, with perfect proportions." In another article by Architectural Digest, Selldorf describes her design process -- as demonstrated in her work on a Fifth Avenue apartment -- as focusing on "unconscious comfort" and "clean and clear space."
