Renowned Kenyan cameraman and filmmaker, Sir Mohinder Dhillon, has had a glittering career spanning over half a century. In his recently published autobiography, „My Camera, My Life“, Sir Mohinder narrates his life-story – an epic journey across Africa and around the world – bringing to memory some of the most sensational and heart-rending events of the last century.

Through this moderated panel discussion, the audience will not only get to understand the illustrious life behind the camera of a man who has been described variously as “a one-off- a pioneering news cameraman”, “A Kenyan patriot and champion of human rights” and a “cameraman extraordinary”. The invited panelists will reflect on the impact of Sir Mohinder’s work on the development of journalism in Kenya and beyond as well as his influence on politics and social justice.

The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Tom Odhiambo of the University of Nairobi.
