The Goethe-Institut in Nairobi supports and promotes German language teaching in schools and adult education institutions in Kenya and Uganda in close cooperation with local partners. Through the PASCH schools in Bujumbura and Kigali, we are also strengthening the German language network in Burundi and Rwanda and thus throughout the region. We inform German teachers about the latest developments in German as a foreign language methodology and didactics, as well as current topics in Germany and other German-speaking countries. In addition, we help to provide teaching and learning materials and motivate people to learn German. Our training events and language courses, which are offered in the region and/or in Germany, strengthen the quality of German language teaching and promote professional exchange among teachers.
