The Goethe-Institut invited aspiring African writers of all ages who are interested in writing for Young Adults (13 – 19 years) to submit their short stories from the whole continent. A panel of curators selected participants who sent in their short stories to attend the final workshop. Facilitated by this year’s winner of the Burt Award for African Young Literature, Kinyanjui Kombani will support the participants in achieving skills to fine tune and refine their stories as well as learning new crafts to manufacture short stories.
The workshop will take place in 8 different countries of the continent at the same time. From each country, the top stories will be published in an anthology that will be available in Kiswahili, English and French and launched at Ake Festival 2019.
