Partners for the Future (PASCH)

  • The Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka is seeking a motivated staff member to start at the earliest possible date.
  • Full-time position (40 hours per week)
  • Remuneration according to the local salary scheme of the Goethe-Institut in Sri Lanka
The Goethe-Institut is an intermediary organisation of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its goals are to promote knowledge of the German language abroad, foster international cultural cooperation, and convey a comprehensive image of Germany by providing information about its cultural, social, and political life.


Areas of Responsibility:

As Project Officer, Schools: Partners for the Future (PASCH) initiative, your main tasks, in coordination with the Head of Language Department, will include:

  • Supporting the implementation of the PASCH strategy for South Asia
  • Advising and supporting German teachers and school principals at PASCH schools in the Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka network
  • Organising, implementing, and documenting youth camps, conferences, training sessions, competitions, and other activities for partner schools in the PASCH initiative of the Goethe-Institut New Delhi and, where applicable, the South Asia region
  • Conducting school visits, classroom observations, and team-teaching, including related documentation at PASCH schools in the Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka network
  • Planning and administering the PASCH scholarship programme based on needs-oriented training plans
  • Reporting and project-related budget administration (planning and controlling) for PASCH schools in the Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka network
  • Managing address databases and statistical data, documentation, and archiving for PASCH, including data research and preparation for various reports and inquiries
  • General office administration
  • Email correspondence and written communication in German and English
  • Processing applications and preparing statistics and reports as required
  • Maintaining the archive

Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken
  • German language skills at minimum B2 level
  • Teaching experience and experience in the public school sector are an advantage
  • Very good knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience with social media, Photoshop, or Adobe InDesign is desirable
  • Willingness to learn the Goethe-Institut’s internal systems
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Good teamwork and communication abilities
  • High resilience
  • Willingness to travel within the region and work on weekends
  • Completed university degree
