The Senegalese capital Dakar is the setting for the new Goethe-Institut designed by architect Francis Kéré from Burkina Faso. It embodies architecture as a cultural, societal and climatologically evolved term.

Family Matters

Various people at different stages of life and age. Grafik: Tobias Schrank © Goethe-Institut The Family Matters project explores various aspects of the social family unit in seven African countries. From religion and finances to marriage and travel: 29 families tell their stories through interviews, in video, audio, photographic and textual format.

Virtually Yours 2022

A series of online discussions – Virtual Gatherings - with honoured author Zukiswa Wanner, through which she explores contemporary African literature with authors.

The aim of Virtually Yours is to create an online platform for avid readers, writers and literature enthusiasts interested in African contemporary literature to engage in dialogue with each other.
