Python is highly versatile programming language applied to solve both small and complex tasks. Python is used across many fields from data science to mobile app development, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. It has seen a large increase in popularity thanks to its easy-to-learn syntax and free availability.
In this course, participants will learn the basics of data science using pandas and scikit-learn in Python. They will perform:
data exploration (reading files, cleaning up data, feature extraction)
data visualization (exploring various methods to create informative graphs)
statistical data analysis (using means, medians, standard deviation)
basics of machine learning (regression, classification, clustering)
Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop and will be guided through the implementation of required programs. A limited number of computers will be available to those who cannot bring their own laptop. Many activities will be done in small groups, encouraging teamwork and collaboration.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to solve simple nd moderately complex problems using a Python programming environment. They will understand YouTube Python tutorials describing data science applications and have all required software installed on their laptops.
