Jesper, a soldier in the German armed forces, signs up for duty again in crisis-ridden Afghanistan. Together with his unit, he is given the assignment of protecting an outpost in a small village from the growing influence of the Taliban. The young Afghan Tarik is assigned to help them as an interpreter. Jesper repeatedly feels torn between his conscience and the orders of his superiors.
