The Goethe-Institut opens up cultural access for broader target groups and contributes to their connection with international cultural scenes. To develop the structure and expertise of the cultural scene, the Goethe-Institut collaborates with a wide range of local, national, and international partners. It focuses on joint cultural production, the mobility of cultural professionals, and sustainable exchange—for example, through residencies and networking programs, as well as training opportunities in the cultural sector and cultural education programs, but also through activities in the creative industries.

The Goethe-Institut contributes to the preservation of cultural scenes and the shaping of open societies by supporting endangered artists and cultural professionals, as well as civil society actors and cultural institutions.
