Community gardens and adventure playgrounds have a long tradition in Germany. They are living examples of healthy living for children, families and neighborhoods.

They have recently become more topical in the context of current discussions on the development of the sustainable city. The Covid-19 pandemic has in addition brought forward the importance of health to general social life.

In 2020/2021 the Goethe-Institut supported Think Playgrounds in setting up an adventure playground and community garden in District 46 of the city of Dong Anh. The neighborhood organization, children and the Dong Anh women's union were involved in the implementation.

The online seminar aims at an exchange of experiences between those involved on the side of Dong Anh and Hanoi on the one hand and specialist colleagues in Berlin.

Possible topics are the design of public spaces through gardens and playgrounds, their therapeutic effects, the contribution to mental and physical health in general.
