Singqokwana’s Dream Deferred is a theatre performance which tells the unfortunate story of how a leader’s dream for the cultural development of New Brighton Township died in the hands of those he led. This theatre performance makes use of song, media projection and the unapologetic theatrical delivery mentored by Dr. Winston Ntshona from The Serpent Players. The piece will be performed outside the Red Location Museum over a decade after it was closed. The museum was meant to be Africa’s biggest precinct but has since turned into a landmark that tells stories of vandalism and incoherent consultation between the community and political leadership.Singqokwana’s Dream Deferred tells the unfortunate story of how a leader’s dream for the cultural development of New Brighton Township died in the hands of those he led.
