Jamirys Craveiro

Jamirys Craveiro Jamirys Craveiro is an art director, graphic designer and illustrator who currently resides in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Jamirys received her Honours in Communication (Graphic) Design from the University of Johannesburg. During her time at the institution, Jamirys took part of Enactus 2018 where she, along with her teammates, established Stitch Africa, an initiative that took impoverished seamstresses from the Alexandra township and empowered them with business studies, branding and logistic training so that they could professionally and independently run their businesses. This led to the Stitch Africa team taking part of the Enactors World Cup 2018 and presenting their research paper in San Jose, California, USA.

In 2020, due to the pandemic related layoffs, Jamirys was forced to leave the advertising industry as an art director. This, however, led to the birth of Frequency designs, a bespoke freelance design studio that works with startups, established and global brands. Jamirys specialises in branding, illustration, campaign development and publication.

Jamirys has a strong passion for design, art and social practices. She one day hopes to finish her master’s in communication (Graphic) design and become a lecturer which will allow her to both empower the next generation of designers as well as bridge the gap between all her passions to continue creating meaningful work.
