Our virtual journey continues (north)west – to the second largest and diverse state of Lower Saxony. The capital of Lower Saxony is Hanover; In addition, the different regions and diverse landscapes – from the Harz Mountains to the coast, from the Emsland to the Heidekreis – are characteristic of the country.

Around 82 percent of the area of the state of Lower Saxony consists of forest and agricultural land.
In 2021, the largest companies in Lower Saxony – each in terms of value added – included Volkswagen AG (Wolfsburg) and Continental AG (Hanover). Third place went to the Talanx AG insurance group, ahead of Salzgitter AG and Rossmann.

Agriculture, tourism and fish processing also play a role in Lower Saxony's labour market.

Together with the Welcome Center and the Welcome Coaches, you will get to know these regions and their diversity:
  • Cities and regions
  • Nature and culture
  • Culinary specialities
  • History, technology and innovation
  • Career opportunities and contact persons
Travel with us! We are looking forward to your participation.
