Empangeni native Celeste Ntuli’s acting journey began in 2013 with her debut in the Mzansi Magic telenovela “isiBaya”,where she portrayed Siphokasi Zungu. Prior to that, she showcased her comedic talent at the Blacks Only comedy showcase in 2010 and performed at the South African Comic’s Choice Awards in 2012. In 2011, she also took the stage in the first Stand Up Zulu comedy show at the Durban Playhouse.
Celeste’s talent was recognized with a Golden Horn Award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Soap at The South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) in 2015. In 2019, she achieved further success by winning a Flying Solo Award and a Comedy G Award at the Savanna Comic’s Choice Awards.
In 2019, Celeste both starred in and produced the film “Looking for Love,” available on Showmax, and featured in “Lockdown” season 3. She co-hosted the widely popular Sunday night television show “Our Perfect Wedding,” leading to her hosting a spin-off titled “Gift of Love.” She also hosted DStv’s proposal show, “Will He Say Yes?”
In August 2023 Celeste kicked off her Brenda Fassie-inspired live comedy show, “Celeste & The Big Dudes” which saw her host several of South Africa’s top comedians including Isaac Gampu, Tats Nkonzo, Toni Modimola, Chris Mapane, and Felix Hlophe. Celeste is featured in “LOL: Last One Laughing South Africa” (2023), alongside Trevor Noah.
A brand darling, Celeste has collaborated with Rain cellular network, as the voice of all their TV, radio and digital ads); she has hosted Albany’s game show, “Live iFresh Life”
and hosted Pick N Pay’s first ever in-app live shopping game show on the ASAP! app. She helped launch Savanna’s whiskey-flavoured cider, Savanna Neat, and served as the face of Santam’s Manifesto campaign.
She also worked with Playtex and Miladys, and in 2024, Celeste participated in The Masked Singer, and earned three nominations at the 2024 Comedy Choice Awards: Comedian of the Year, Headliner of the Year, and Best Solo Show. In 2024, she also appeared in campaigns for Jacobs Coffee, Eskort, and FedHealth.
Based in eThekwini (Durban), Robby Collins is a rising star in the world of South African comedy, known for his dynamic stage presence, razor-sharp wit, and unflinching ability to turn everyday life into laugh-out-loud moments. From his humble beginnings as an actor in the vibrant Durban theatre scene, Robby has become one of the most influential voices of the new generation of comedians in South Africa.
With his towering, giraffe-like frame and relatable humor, Robby connects effortlessly with audiences. His material – often drawn from his own life experiences – is refreshingly authentic, delivered with a charm and ease that makes him a favourite on the stand-up circuit. Over the years, Robby has graced some of South Africa’s biggest comedy stages, including The Heavy Weight Comedy Jam, Blacks Only, Kings & Queens of Comedy, and Comedy Central Live at Parkers.
Robby’s talents have not gone unnoticed. He has been personally chosen to open for some of the world’s biggest comics, including legends like Dave Chappelle, Trevor Noah, and Marc Lottering. His tour with Trevor Noah alone spanned over 50 shows across Southern Africa, solidifying his status as one of the continent’s top comedic talents. He was also a key member of The Nationwide Comedy Show, South Africa’s best-selling comedy ensemble DVD, and in 2015, he hosted a show at the Comedy Central International Comedy Festival, Africa’s largest comedy event.
In 2016, Robby was invited to perform at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, and the following year, he returned to the festival for Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud show. His international reach expanded further with performances at the Sydney and Perth Comedy Festivals in 2018. That same year, he had the honor of opening for his idol, Dave Chappelle, on the South African leg of Chappelle’s world tour.
Robby’s comedy specials have also earned widespread acclaim. In 2022, he released his special, Only Jokes Allowed, on Netflix, adding to his growing international presence. Earlier shows like That Bushman is Crazy (which earned him an Ovation Award) and Growing Pains (which sold out nationwide) have been fan favorites.
Beyond the stage, Robby’s talents extend to television. He starred in Rhythm City and Rockville, two critically acclaimed shows, and contributed to The Bantu Hour, Ekasi Stories, and Late Night News with Loyiso Gola – the latter earning him an International Emmy nomination for writing.
With a string of prestigious awards and a rapidly expanding fanbase, Robby Collins is undoubtedly one of the most exciting comedic forces to emerge from South Africa in recent years.
Tshireletso „MO“ Mothebe ist ein junger Comedian aus Pretoria, der jetzt in Johannesburg lebt und arbeitet und eine erfrischende Stimme in der lokalen Comedy-Szene ist. Mo (wie er von seinen zahlreichen Bewunderern liebevoll genannt wird) begann seine Comedy-Karriere Anfang 2013 und ist seitdem immer erfolgreicher geworden. Der Absolvent der Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der Monash University ist in ganz Südafrika aufgetreten und gab 2017 sein internationales Debüt, als er im Berlin Comedy Circuit auftrat. Seine komödiantischen Themen reichen von seinen vergangenen Beziehungen, seiner Rasse und täglichen Beobachtungen. Dieser ruhige junge Komiker spricht fließend Englisch und Sesotho, hat eine Leidenschaft für Stand-up-Comedy und hat das Publikum immer wieder nach mehr verlangen lassen.
Er kehrte im Juni 2019 von einer Clubtour durch Europa zurück, wo er in Berlin und Warschau als Headliner auftrat und bei Publikum und Veranstaltern den Wunsch nach mehr weckte. Im September 2017 debütierte er mit seiner One-Man-Show „TheChocolate Chronicles“, die von der Kritik begeistert aufgenommen wurde und 2019 einen Ovation Award gewann. 2018 war er in Trevor Noahs „Nationwild“ zu sehen. Er war 2016 der Voract für die One-Man-Show von Loyiso Gola an verschiedenen Veranstaltungsorten in Südafrika.
