Launched in 2021, EU4Culture is a four-year project funded by the European Union to assist cities in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) region in developing and implementing their Cultural Development Strategies following the model of the European Capitals of Culture. The project is implemented by Goethe-Institut (lead), Czech Centers, Danish Cultural Institute, and Institut Français de Géorgie.

EU4Culture provides financial and technical support to 14 regional cities in the Eastern Partnership countries. Twelve of them receive additional assistance to implement their strategies. Consequently, the Regional Cities Network of the 14 municipalities, supports the development of decentralised cultural and creative industries with new opportunities.

Additionally, EU4Culture funds 20 Cultural and Cross-Innovation projects of artists and cultural professionals. The creative initiatives are implemented in one or several cities within the Regional Cities Network and complemented their Cultural Development Strategies.

More than 390 creatives from the Eastern Partnership countries will receive mobility grants. With the support package, they will travel to Europe to expand their professional networks and gain new knowledge. With the intellectual capital gained from their mobility projects, the grantees will be at the forefront of advancing the decentralised cultural and creative industries in their countries.
